IELTS is conducted in 2 different modules: (I) General Training and (II) Academic Training.

  • In Academic Training module, the candidates are measured for their skills on whether they are prepared to take undergraduate and graduate programs.

  • In General Training module, candidates are measured for their ability to communicate.

Both modules consist of 4 parts as listening, reading, writing and speaking. The exam (excluding speaking part) takes 2 hours 45 minutes. The speaking part takes about 12 to 14 minutes.

All parts are graded from 1 to 9 in whole numbers or in decimals such as 6.5, 6.0. Overall Band Score is the arithmetic average of all four scores.
